Relatives of victims of Rostov air crash win lawsuit against FlyDubai

The court of the Dubai Emirate has ordered the "FlyDubai" Airline to pay about 217,000 US dollars as compensation to children of the victims of the plane crash in Rostov-on-Don.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in November 2017, relatives of the casualties in the plane crash filed two lawsuits in the United Arab Emirates demanding 10 million US dollars from the "FlyDubai".

The aircraft Boeing 737-800 of the "FlyDubai" Airline crashed at landing at the Rostov Airport on March 19, 2016. All the 55 passengers and seven crew members on board perished. The Interstate Aviation Committee put forward a pilots' mistake as the main version of the crash.

The Civil Court of the Dubai Emirate has ordered the "FlyDubai" to pay 800,000 dirhams (about 217,000 US dollars) to the children of the Russian couple who died in the Rostov plane crash, the "Khaleej Times" newspaper wrote on August 13.

The consideration of the case lasted for a year and four months. According to Muhammad al-Hashimi, the claimants' advocate, his clients intend to appeal against the court's decision and demand compensation of 74 million dirhams (about 20 million US dollars).
