Resident of Dagestan accused of aiding militants

The criminal case against Magomed Maglaev, a resident of Dagestan, who, according to investigators, helped a militant and kept ammunition and explosive elements in his house, has been sent to the court.

According to the prosecutor's office, the 27-year-old Maglaev is accused of illegal dealing with ammunition, explosive devices, drug possession and helping militants.

"According to the prosecution, Maglaev rendered help to a member of an illegal armed formation (IAF). In particular, he took from him ammunition for firearms for storage... and a fragment of the charge of an explosive in the form of a TNT (trotyl) block... which he transported to his residence in the village of Tarumovka and stored them until they were detected by employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA)," reports the website of the prosecutor's office.

It is also alleged that Maglaev "illegally purchased and stored, in the outskirt of Tarumovka, a significant amount of marijuana without the aim of selling it."
