Resident of Makhachkala detained on suspicion of aiding and abetting militants

Last night, law enforcers have detained a resident of Makhachkala, suspected of aiding and abetting militants. This was reported by a source from the law enforcement bodies. According to the source, during the search, law enforcers found ammunition and prohibited books in the detainee's house.

The detainee is a resident of the Kirov District of the capital of Dagestan.

"During the search carried out in his house, law enforcers found ammunition, a grenade, and banned religious books. All the above items are confiscated," reports the source.

He has also noted that at present, the law enforcers are revealing in the activities of which grouping of militants the detainee was involved, the agency "Interfax-South" reports.

It should be noted that today, the Chief Department for the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has reported on the detention of a resident of Makhachkala. During his search, law enforcers found and seized more than 120 rounds of various calibres, two grenades, two magazines for a Kalashnikov submachine gun, and narcotic plant of cannabis.

On August 4, the Russian MIA's Chief Department for NCFD also reported on the detention of a group of four residents of Dagestan, suspected of aiding and abetting members of illegal armed formations (IAFs) on the territory of the republic since 2010.
