Advocate claims relation between Alexander Dolzhenko's and William Browder's cases

In case of an unfavourable decision of the Supreme Court (SC) of Kalmykia under an appeal filed by Alexander Dolzhenko, a former manager of Limited Liability Company (LLC) "Dalnyaya Step", the law enforcement agencies will have grounds to arrest in the case the foreign banking accounts of William Browder, the director of the "Hermitage Capital". This was reported by advocate Alaudi Musaev.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 6, the Elista City Court found Alexander Dolzhenko, the former director of the LLC "Dalnyaya Step", guilty of complicity in the company's intentional bankruptcy and sentenced him to two years of imprisonment. According to investigators, Alexander Dolzhenko entered an agreement with William Browder, the general director of the LLC "Dalnyaya Step". Alexander Dolzhenko himself pleaded not guilty. The defence filed an appeal to challenge the verdict.

On June 8, the Supreme Court of Kalmykia began to consider the case against Alexander Dolzhenko.

Advocate Alaudi Musaev, who represents the interests of the former director, treats the Alexander Dolzhenko's case as a politically motivated one, since "the arbitration administrator of the LLC 'Dalnyaya Step' was appointed guilty of complicity in bankruptcy only with the aim to arrest the William Browder's accounts outside the Russian Federation."

"If Alexander Dolzhenko is found guilty of being an accomplice to William Browder and his company, the law enforcement agencies will have grounds to arrest in the case the William Browder's foreign banking accounts," stated the advocate.

Let us remind you that during the consideration of the case in the city court, the advocate reported the Alexander Dolzhenko's poor health state and warned the court of the possibility to get a "second Magnitsky's case."
