Number of victims from terror act in Grozny is now 9

The investigation into the circumstances of the explosion in the Chechen capital continues. The number of victims of the terror act has reached nine. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed about it at law enforcement bodies of the republic.

"Under updated information, nine persons suffered at the explosion. Eight of them received slight scratches and bruises, and one - a militiaman - is still in hospital. Doctors say that his condition is stable and there's no threat to their life," said a source in the MIA of Chechnya.

Yesterday, Ruslan Alkhanov, Interior Minister of Chechnya, named this terror act as "villainous and cynical." "It's an attempt to intimidate the population, to plant fear and uncertainty into people's hearts. The place, where the bomb was planted, is a children's playground with booths, where ice-cream is sold, children's cars are leased, and women with children are walking. Militaries or militiamen have never appeared there. The culprits behind the explosion have laid their hands on women and children," the Minister has emphasized.
