Explosion in Chechen capital: eyewitnesses' evidences

The data on the number of victims of the explosion, which happened today at about 1:20 p.m. Moscow time in the city of Grozny, is contradictory. According to the ID for Chechnya of the Russian ICPO, six persons received wounds. As to eyewitnesses and militiamen, who were in the place of the incident, they told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that there were no casualties and wounded persons.

Eyewitnesses said that the bomb exploded in a lawn, near a garbage bin. "We understood nothing at first: a strong explosion was heard, and clouts of soil went up into the air. Then, there was some panic, but then it calmed down. Securities ran up there and asked us to leave the place," Markha Abdumuslimova, a resident of Grozny, said.

A militiaman, who stood in the cordon, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that there were no victims. "The explosion was small. It's probable even that a big petard blew up. There were no victims," he asserts.
