Seda Suleimanova's bridegroom asks to visit her in Chechnya

The bridegroom of Seda Suleimanova, a native of Chechnya, who was brought to the republic by law enforcers from Saint Petersburg, converted to Islam and asked to visit her, but received no response from her relatives, or the security guarantees for his trip to Chechnya, which the Chechen Ombudsperson had promised to him.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 4, Mansur Soltaev, the Chechen Ombudsperson, informed that he had repeatedly visited Seda Suleimanova. According to his story, the girl met him in a good mood and expressed no complaints.

On August 29, Mansur Soltaev reported on his first visit to Seda Suleimanova. He stated then that the girl was in no danger and quite safe.

Stanislav Kudriavtsev, Seda Suleimanova's bridegroom, has converted to Islam in a mosque in Saint Petersburg, and at his request, Elena Milashina, a journalist, has appealed to Tatiana Moskalkova, the Russian Ombudsperson, with an appeal to influence the situation, the SK SOS Crisis Group* has reported.

According to Elena Milashina, a person, who introduced himself as a Russian Ombudsperson's assistant, promised her that Soltaev would call back, but he never got in touch.

Human rights defenders are calling to "provide proofs that Seda is alive and well," to report where the girl is, and not to interfere with Seda meeting her bridegroom Stanislav.

In October 2022, Seda Suleimanova turned to human rights defenders because she was afraid that her family might commit an "honour killing," since relatives from Grozny were not satisfied with the girl's insufficient religiosity.
