FBI refused to help investigate Bachaliashvili's death

The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) will not take part in the high-profile death case of the programmer, Tamar Bachaliashvili.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Teona Tamazashvili, the mother of the deceased Tamar Bachaliashvili, said that she distrusted the investigators' version of suicide as the cause of her daughter's death. She demanded to invite FBI experts to join the investigation.

However, the FBI has refused to take part in the inquiry into Tamar's death, stating that they are only in charge of the cases involving US citizens, Mikhail Ramishvili, the advocate of the Bachaliashvili family, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. He expressed hope that the FBI experts will still take part in holding examinations.

"We don't know what the Georgian Prosecutor's Office (PO) had sent to the FBI; the latter may have no motivation to participate in the case, since local investigators are considering only one death version – a suicide. And this is not a crime to involve the FBI," said the advocate.

According to Ramishvili, the PO has refused to send Tamar Bachaliashvili's computer and mobile phone to the FBI in order to restore the erased files, although Georgian experts failed to do this.
