On August 24-30, 2020, one person fell victim to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

During the week of August 24-30, 2020, at least one person fell victim to the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus. No wounded were reported. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

The killed person was a suspected member of the armed underground in Ingushetia.

One person killed during CTO in Ingush village

On August 26, during a counterterrorist operation (CTO) carried out in the village of Ali-Yurt in the Nazran District of Ingushetia, law enforcers cordoned off a house, in which, according to some information, suspected militants took shelter. According to the law enforcers, after a shootout had begun, one of the men, hiding in the cordoned-off house, activated an explosive device and was killed in an explosion. Another suspected militant managed to flee, and the law enforcement bodies organized a search for him. No law enforcers or civilians were injured.

A car blown up in Nazran

On August 26, in Nazran, an explosion occurred in a Lada Granta car. According to the law enforcement bodies, the car was blown up by a remote-controlled explosive device. The explosion power is estimated at 150-200 grams of TNT equivalent. According to a source, an owner of the blown-up car was sentenced in a case on bombing of law enforcers' cars.

Two persons detained in Dagestan and Ingushetia

On August 27, in Dagestan, law enforcers stopped a car driven by a 32-year-old resident of the Rutul District. During a search, the policemen found in the luggage boot a Kalashnikov submachine gun with a magazine loaded with 15 rounds, as well as a hand grenade. The driver was detained.

On August 28, it became known that after a special operation conducted in the village of Troitskoye in the Sunzha District of Ingushetia, law enforcers detained a local resident who let suspected militants stay overnight in his house. Later, the suspects were killed in the CTO. During the special operation, the law enforcers took the local resident and his wife out of the house. The woman was put into an ambulance car, while her husband was put into an Ural truck. Since then, the woman never saw her husband. She only knows that her husband is being kept at a police station and that the law enforcers are engaged in finding out whether the man is involved in aiding and abetting the terrorists.
