In Makhachkala, shelter administration announces its version of conflict with inmates

In Makhachkala, victims of violence who lived in the "Warm House on the Mountain" shelter were not forced to work for free and communicate with journalists. A request for the eviction of women is related to the violation by them of the shelter rules, announces the administration of the shelter in response to the article prepared and posted by Svetlana Anokhina.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 31, Dagestani journalist Svetlana Anokhina reported that the administration of the Makhachkala "Warm House on the Mountain" shelter for victims of domestic violence tried to force their inmates out into the street.

According to Svetlana Anokhina, the administration of the shelter forced women to "communicate with journalists" and involved them into repair of the apartment, which earlier hosted a shelter for victims of domestic violence. For failure to comply, women were threatened with eviction from the shelter.

An employee of the "Warm House on the Mountain" shelter has denied the reports that the inmates of the shelter were forced to take pictures and communicate with journalists.

In its comments, the shelter administration also reports that on January 19, one of the inmates left for her homeland, Grozny, "without warning managers and staff and left four minor children unattended in our shelter."

The woman did not return to the shelter till January 25. "On January 25, 2020, an employee of our centre told (the woman) that she should be punished for leaving children unattended, since such acts contradicted the rules of living in the centre. On January 28, 2020, after the planning meeting, the centre's administration decided to evict (the woman)," the authors of the shelter's comment report.
