Georgian singer refuses to give concerts in Russia

Georgian singer Nino Katamadze supported protesters in Tbilisi by announcing that she would never again give concerts in Russia. The decision was made in response to criticism of social network users after the singer's performance in Moscow.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that after a scandal with the Russian delegation, which occurred in the building of the Georgian parliament on June 20, rallies are being daily held in Tbilisi. The protesters succeeded in seeking the resignation of the Speaker of the Parliament and the holding of elections in 2020. Their last demand is the resignation of Georgian Interior Minister Giorgi Gakhariya.

Earlier, tourists from Moscow interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" complained about the deterioration of the relations between the countries, but noted that they felt safe in Georgia.

On June 22, jazz singer Nino Katamadze performed at the Jazz Manor Festival in Moscow, and after that the criticism of Georgian social network users struck her. The singer promised never to give concerts in Russia again.

"The hardest day of my life was June 20 and the hardest concert was on June 22. I did not cancel the concert just for the sake of a nine-year-old blind girl. I said at the concert that it was my last concert in Russia!!!" wrote Nino Katamadze on Facebook.

In 2000, the career of Nino Katamadze began with the cooperation with Gocha Kacheishvili, the founder of the Insight Group. Together with the Insight Group, the singer also recorded soundtracks for Russian films. Nino Katamadze got numerous awards.
