Grozny café suspended after mass poisoning
Supervisory officials are examining a café in Grozny, whose visitors were hospitalized with poisoning.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 20 at least seven children and 12 adults were hospitalized in Grozny with symptoms of food poisoning; their condition is estimated by doctors as of moderate gravity. According to the prosecutor's office, over 30 persons were taken to hospital after eating shawarma and danar-kebab.
The work of the café, whose visitors had suffered, has been suspended, said a source from the Prosecutor's Office of Chechnya.
Reports of mass poisoning have worried Grozny townspeople.
"My family forbade me visit cafes, where they serve shawarma, until everything clears up," said Abu, a university student.
The poisoning could be caused by poor-quality meat, Kakha, a former employee of the public catering sector, has suggested.
