Truck drivers from regions of Southern Russia cordoned off in Khimki camp

In Khimki in the Moscow Region, employees of the "Mosgaz" service dug a ditch around a camp of truck drivers on protest against the "Platon" system. Truck drivers from Dagestan, Kabardino-Balkaria, and the Rostov Region were among participants of the protest action, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since May 21, protest actions of truck drivers are taking place in Moscow. The protests involve truck drivers from many regions of the country, including the south of Russia.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has been told by Evgeny Vysochin, the spokesman for the "Association of Russian Carriers" in the Rostov Region, that the employees of the "Mosgaz" explained their actions by the fact that there is a gas pipe and a gas leakage has occurred at the place.

"Thus we have been isolated. The vehicles are completely cordoned off. At present, there are 15 trucks here," said Evgeny Vysochin.

He has also reported that some unidentified persons who introduced themselves as law enforcers directly threatened him and his family members. In particular, a man introducing himself as "the chief of the criminal investigation department" has said that if Evgeny Vysochin does not stop his activities, "anything can happen."

According to Evgeny Vysochin, a lot of truck drivers do not take any action, since they fear for their family members.
