On March 27-April 2, three persons fell victim to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

During the week from March 27 to April 2, 2017, three persons fell victim to the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus: two perished, and one was wounded. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

The casualties are two alleged members of the armed underground in Chechnya.

Attacks on law enforcers

On March 30, in the wooded area in the mountains of the Urus-Martan District of Chechnya, power agents noticed two armed men and demanded that they lay down their arms, but the unidentified men opened fire and were killed by the return fire. There are no victims among law enforcers.

Attacks on civilians

On April 1, on the Yandare-Karabulak highway, in the village of Yandare, Nazran District of Ingushetia, Alaudin Mashkhoev, 55, a former policeman, was wounded as a result of shelling. An unidentified person stopped Mashkhoev's car and fired at him. The victim is in an intensive care unit.

Detentions

On March 29, Kasum Arslanaliev, a resident of Khasavyurt, was detained in Makhachkala on suspicion of illegal possession of arms and ammunition. On that day, he left his home, but did not return. His whereabouts became known to his relatives only on March 30, when his wife received a call from the police. Musa Abdulkadyrov, Arslanaliev's advocate, said that his client was badly beaten up.

On March 30, in the Makhachkala neighbourhood of Reductorny, policemen, without any explanations, put into their car and took away Ikramudin Aliev, a Dagestani journalist and an expert of the Human Rights Council under the President of Russia. During the detention, law enforcers knocked Aliev down on the ground and took him to the Leninsky ROVD (District Interior Division) of Makhachkala. He was released after a short while.

On March 31, policemen arrested Damir Mukhatdinov, Ruslan Adjibragimov and Marat Dautov, residents of the Stavropol Territory. According to investigators, in 1999 they participated in the battles of the “Nogai battalion” of militants.

On March 31, a resident of the village of Naurskaya was detained on suspicion of involvement in the attack on the “Rosgvardia” unit in Chechnya.
