Residents of Kvanada do not suffer from CTO legal regime

In the Dagestani village of Kvanada, local residents state that they still do not experience any restrictions in the area of counterterrorist operation. According to the locals, a special operation is being carried out in a small area only, and the village is not completely cordoned off.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today, at 4:00 a.m. Moscow time, counterterrorist operation (CTO) legal regime has been introduced in the village of Kvanada of the Tsumada District. A shootout between suspected militants and law enforcers occurred there, and as a result, one man was killed. According to sources from the law enforcement bodies, he has been identified as Magomed Abdulkhalikov, who was on the wanted list since 2014.

According to the Russian National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC), the law enforcers are searching for accomplices of Magomed Abdulkhalikov in the village of Kvanada. The law enforcers have reported that one of the suspected militants was wounded.

In the Tsumada District, local residents do not feel the action of the CTO legal regime. This was reported by a resident of the village of Agvali, the centre of the Tsumada District.

Another resident of the Tsumada District has reported that the law enforcers "were engaged in some activities in the village of Kvanada; however, in the other areas of the Tsumada District, everything is as usual."

Meanwhile, according to a local resident, today, a kindergarten and a school in the village of Kvanada were closed.

Another resident of the village has noted that the situation in the village "is calm, and people can move around without any problems."
