Three other persons killed in special operation in Nalchik

Today, in the course of two special operations carried out in Nalchik, fourteen suspected militants have been killed, including the leader of the grouping, which swore allegiance to the terrorist organization "Islamic State" (IS). This was reported by the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today, at 8:00 a.m., the counterterrorist (CTO) legal regime was introduced in the vicinity of Nalchik. According to the NAC, in the special operation carried out in the vicinity of Nalchik, law enforcers killed 11 militants, who had sworn allegiance to the "Islamic State" (IS) (banned in Russia and recognized as a terrorist organization). The CTO legal regime in the vicinity of Nalchik was cancelled at 1:00 p.m. Moscow time.

"As a result of the additional operative and search measures taken following the results of the counterterrorist operation (CTO) conducted by the operational headquarters of the NAC in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), we got the information that some militants of the liquidated criminal grouping are hiding in the city of Nalchik," the NAC reports.

According to the NAC, "three other armed men were discovered. During the attempt of their detention, they rendered armed resistance and were neutralized", the RIA "Novosti" reports.

Tonight, "the largest administrative unit of the so-called terrorist Jamaat, active in Northern Caucasus, has been liquidated in Nalchik." This was reported by a source from the law enforcement bodies of Kabardino-Balkaria. According to the source, the leader and two of his assistants from the administration of the IS unit were killed, "and weapons and large quantities of ammunition were seized," the "Interfax" reports.

According to the source, none of law enforcers or civilians suffered during the special operation.
