Over 400 people in NKR commemorate perished soldiers

The people who gathered in St Akop Church in Stepanakert took part in the liturgy for the repose of the two soldiers lost on September 4 in the Karabakh conflict zone and lit candles in memory of the soldiers.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) had declared that two soldiers – Marat Khachanyan and Arman Stepanyan – died from their wounds received after the shelling on the frontline.

The above action was organized by the public organization "Centre for Artsakh Youth Development". On the same day, the funeral Arman Stepanyan took place with military honours. Relatives and friends of Marat Khachanyan decided to bury him on September 7. Both soldiers had lived in Stepanakert; they were married and had minor children.

Susanna Petrosyan, the chair of the above Centre, believes that the international community is indifferent to the fact that people die in the Karabakh conflict zone. According to her story, the authorities of Armenia and NKR should mobilize efforts, together with the Armenian Diaspora, "to create a strong Armenian state."

According to the police, within an hour, over 400 persons took part in the action near the church.
