Prosecutor demands life sentence for Taziev

Today, at the trial of Ali Taziev, accused of taking part in the attack on Nazran in June 2004, the pleadings began. Prosecutors ask the court to sentence the defendant to life imprisonment.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that, according to the prosecution, at night on June 22, 2004, Ali Taziev, also known under the nickname of "Magas", took part in the attack of militants led by Shamil Basaev on state-owned objects in Ingushetia. Taziev denies his guilt.

Today, the court has started the pleadings, but listened only the position of the public prosecution, said Alyona Katskalo, the press secretary of the North-Caucasian Military District Court. The advocate's speech was postponed until July 3.

Let us remind you that in October 2013 Taziev was sentenced to life imprisonment. Then, he was accused of leading a grouping of militants. The crimes, which, according to investigators, were designed, planned and supervised by Taziev, included explosions of a bus in Nevinnomyssk in December 2007 and of the OVD (Interior Division) building in Ingushetia in August 2009, as well as the attempt on the head of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov in June 2009.
