Lawyer Elena Denisenko complains of pressure in connection with Patimat Nasibova's case

At a checkpoint on the border of Dagestan and Stavropol Territory, power agents detained, for more than an hour, the bus, in which the lawyer Elena Denisenko was travelling. She was told, at inspection of her documents, that the FSB wanted to talk to her. Elena associates the incident with her defence of the rights of Patimat Nasibova, a resident of the village of Kirovaul.

The incident occurred in the evening on October 31, Elena Denisenko herself told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"The bus was stopped for inspection at the so-called "Zaterechny" check post. The waiting lasted for nearly half an hour. Then, around 7:30 p.m., a law enforcer entered the bus, asked who Denisenko was, and asked me to go with him to the checkpoint," said the lawyer.

According to her story, in the building of the checkpoint she was told that she was "on some FSB lists."

Denisenko assumes that the interest of the Krasnodar Territorial FSB to her has to do with the case of Patimat Nasibova, where she acts as an advocate.

"Last week, I was called from the Krasnodar Centre for Combating Extremism; they wondered how Nasibova's relatives had reached me, and why I am running the case," said Elena Denisenko.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Patimat Nasibova was detained after the special operation carried out by law enforcers in the village of Kirovaul on October 6. Patimat Nasibova is accused of aiding and abetting members of the armed underground.
