Astrakhan: three houses in Porokhovaya Street found dilapidated
In the city of Astrakhan, the apartment buildings Nos. 16, 16G and 18 in Porokhovaya Street, inhabited by more than 170 families, have been found to be in emergency condition and subject to demolition, said the Vice-Mayor Gennady Didenko. The tenants, who fought for resettlement for two years, should move into new flats until December 31, 2015.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that after the emergency evacuation of residents of one of the houses on September 21, 2012, a special inter-branch commission was appointed to monitor the condition of buildings in the above street. In October 2012, the Astrakhan Mayoralty refused to recognize the emergency condition of houses Nos. 16, 16G and 18. This decision angered the residents; they claimed that the houses were in very poor condition and continued their struggle for settlement.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports that salt and mould are seen on the walls of apartments, corridors and doorways; the water-supply and sewage pipes are half-rusted; and crumbled masonry can be found in many places.
Now, after recognition of their houses as emergency structures subject to demolition, the tenants are in the process of preparing their documentary resettlement, but do not believe that it will happen soon.
