Retired Armenian Army Colonel goes on picket demanding social guarantees to veterans

Volodya Avetisyan, a retired Colonel of the Armenian Army, has started his sitting picket in Liberty Square in Yerevan, demanding from the government to revise the procedure for the calculation of military pensions. A group of veterans of the Karabakh War has joined the protest.

According to the publication named "Lragir.am", the veterans of the war in Nagorno-Karabakh, who have supported the protesting Colonel, state that they receive "miserable pensions."

After the start of his sitting picket, Volodya Avetisyan was taken by policemen into a car and taken to the central police station of Yerevan, where he was met by Ashot Karapetyan, Chief of the Yerevan Police.

After a while, Avetisyan returned to the square and explained that he had delivered his claims to the police boss of Yerevan. He also said that policemen did not try to persuade him to abandon the action, the "Armenia Today" reports.
