In Sweden, Aslan Maskhadov's ally, awaiting deportation to Russia, hospitalized

Swedish authorities intend to deport to Russia Emilkhan Sadaev, the former ally of Aslan Maskhadov, President of the self-proclaimed Chechen Republic of Ichkeria. He had inflicted on himself injuries, and after that he was transferred to hospital. In particular, journalist Nadezhda Banchik reported on a suicide attempt.

Being kept in the deportation prison in the town of Marsta, on February 1, to protest against his deportation, Emilkhan Sadaev cut his head open by a table's edge. After that, Emilkhan Sadaev was hospitalized, the TV Channel "PIK" reports.

Meanwhile, representatives of human rights organizations continue the campaign in his defence. "Usually, if human rights defenders intercede for a refugee, the EU countries leave the refugee in peace. However, in this case the Swedish authorities pursue the refugee with such fury and stubbornness that on February 1 he attempted to commit suicide. Fortunately, the attempt had failed, and he was hospitalized; however, the Swedish authorities still threaten with deportation," writes the journalist Nadezhda Banchik on her page in the Facebook.

The journalist does not exclude that Swedish and Russian authorities have concluded a secret deal on the case. According to her, the deal was dictated by commercial interests, in particular, relating to the supply of Russian oil to the EU countries, the "Caucasus Online" reports.

In his turn, human rights defender Mairbek Taramov, who took part in actions to support Emilkhan Sadaev, has reported with reference to the information received from the detainee's lawyer that the state of Emilkhan Sadaev is normal, but he refuses to eat. Mairbek Taramov does also not exclude that the deportation of the Aslan Maskhadov's ally is dictated by the commercial interest of the EU in Russia's hydrocarbon raw materials.
