Lawyers on case of "Urvan Jamaat" demand compulsory bringing of defence's witnesses to court

Today, in the city of Rostov-on-Don at the hearing on the case of "Urvan Jamaat" in the North Caucasus District Military Court the defendants' lawyers demanded to bring to the court two defence's witnesses who did not come. To search for witnesses, the hearings were postponed till August 10.

"There are no documents proving that an attempt to inform or bring witnesses to the court has been really and truly committed. The Court Bailiffs Service works very badly in Kabardino-Balkaria. In turn, the witnesses from the prosecutor's list were brought to the court. Therefore, we ask to treat equally the defence's request", said Amir Isakov, a defendant's lawyer, at the meeting.

"Almost all witnesses, who did not come to the court, are participants of the investigative actions in the case. All of them are sometimes in Moscow, and sometimes they are sick," said Tamaz Nodia, a lawyer.

The court agreed with the defence's requests and announced that the session was postponed till August 10 for interrogation of the above witnesses.
In this case eight residents of Kabardino-Balkaria are accused of involvement in the illegal armed formation.
