Defendant in case of attack on Nalchik seeks case consideration without his presence

Sergei Kaziev, the defendant in the case of the attack on Nalchik on October 13, 2005, which is under proceedings at by the Supreme Court of Kabardino-Balkaria, filed a motion for consideration of the case without his presence due to health deterioration. Today's court hearing was adjourned until Thursday, July 7, due to Sergei Kaziev's disease.

"Earlier, the Court made a decision about medical examination of the defendant Kaziev by those experts whom the accused called. The examination was carried out, but the conclusion decision of the doctors will be delivered to the court only tomorrow (on July 5)," said Judge Galina Gorislavskaya, who presided at the process.

Earlier, it was reported in the course of the process, that Sergei Kaziev had got thrombophlebitis of legs and chronic hepatitis. On June 27 the court hearing on the case of the attack on Nalchik was cancelled, because Kaziev was not able to present at the court session for health reasons.
