Georgia: Deputy Governor of Shida Kartli detained on bribery charges

Employees of the Department of Constitutional Security of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) have detained Avtandil Mestvirishvili, Deputy Governor of the region Shida Kartli (Eastern Georgia), on bribery charges. No details have been disclosed so far.

The special operation to detain the high-ranking official was held in the city of Gori, the "Rustavi-2" reports.

Today the MIA officials plan to hold a special briefing on this occasion.
