Picket in defence of Russians temporarily living in South Ossetia is on in Moscow

The picket "Against the lawlessness, perpetrated by authorities of the Republic of South Ossetia against the Russian citizens temporarily residing and engaged in reconstruction works in the territory of South Ossetia" is held today near the monument to Griboyedov in Chistoprudny Boulevard in Moscow.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent learnt about it from Lisa, daughter of the Russian Svetlana Osipova, who is kept in Tskhinvali prison.

The picket started at 2 p.m. and will continue till 5.

According to Liza the picket is held under the following slogans: "Russian citizens in South Ossetia shall have the Russian constitutional guarantees not arbitrariness", "Dmitry Anatolievich, Vladimir Vladimirovich, we demand to stop banditism against Russian citizens in South Ossetia", "Esteemed Russian President, stop robbery of Russian citizens in South Ossetia", " Russian prisoners of Tskhinvali torture prison - Svetlana Osipova, Alexei Borisov, Dmitry Kaloev and Dmitry Krylov - under the Russian jurisdiction", "Freedom to Svetlana Osipova, a citizen of the Russian Federation".

About 30 persons take part in the picket, including Ruslan Magkaev, an activist of the human rights movement and the head of the North-Ossetian human rights organisation "Transport-A".

According to Liza, the daughter of the inmate of South-Ossetian prison, the picket was duly sanctioned.

Earlier, as the "Caucasian Knot" has reported Ms Osipova's relatives already tried to hold a picket in Moscow; however, then the Moscow authorities refused to give a permit.
