Exhibition of Salvador Dali's unknown works opened in Stavropol

The works by Salvador Dali from a private Italian collection are for the first time exhibited for the public at the Stavropol Territorial Museum of Fine Arts.

The exhibition presents more than 100 illustrations to the Bible, made by the famous painter in the 1960s under the order of an Italian publisher. The collection "Salvador Dali. Holy Message" was made in mixed technique, combining gouache, ink, pastel and pencil.

None of the 105 paintings and sketches by Dali, presented at the exhibition, arrived from Russian museums - they all come from a private Italian collection, the "Interfax" writes.

The RIA "Novosti" adds that the graphic series by one of the greatest surrealists is exhibited in Stavropol within the Year of Spain in Russia, announced in 2011.
