Mass brawl in Dagestan results in victims and detainees

On Monday, December 13, a conflict between residents of two districts of Dagestan because of pastures turned into a mass brawl with use of firearms and involvement, according to the militia, of over 200 persons. Two participants of the incident were taken to hospital; 20 more were detained.

This is the second in the last two days such incidents in Dagestan. On Sunday, December 12, in the evening, in a mass fight in the city of Izberbash, two militiamen and one of the fighters suffered.

As reported by the spokesman of the local MIA, on December 13 the conflict burst out from the fact that "villagers of Leninaul, Kazbek District, about 120 persons, drove to the field of the village Lvovskoe-1, Babayurt District, where shepherds were pasturing their cattle. There, the visitors, acting in the context of unregulated land relations, attacked and beat a resident of Lvovskoe-1, who was brought to hospital with brain concussion and bruises, RIA "Novosti" reports.

Then, residents of the Kazbek District put a house on fire and burnt it down to the ground. Also, a motorcycle and a trailer, which were in the yard of the house, followed the fate of the latter.

After that, according to the militia "about 100 residents of Lvovskoe-1 came to rescue and started a fight with the invaders from the Kazbek District. As a result of the incident, a resident of the Kazbek District was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound in his left thigh.
