Tbilisi gets the right to accept European Youth Olympic Festival

Georgia was awarded the right to host the Summer European Youth Olympic Festival in 2015. The decision was made today in Belgrade at the 39th Session of the General Assembly of the European Olympic Committee, which was attended by National Olympic Committees of 49 countries of the continent.

For the Youth Olympic Festival, the Assembly was to choose among Georgia and the Czech city of Brno.

According to Georgi Chanishvili, head of the press service of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Matters of Georgia, Tbilisi beat Brno at 26:21 vote, the "Interfax" reports.

The 2015 Festival will include nine sports and plant to bring together 3000 athletes from 49 countries, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

  • SC demands from KBSU documents on legality of Khokonov's dismissal

    The Supreme Court (SC) of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) has begun considering the lawsuit lodged by Murat Khokonov, Professor of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University (KBSU), concerning his illegal dismissal. The SC has demanded from KBSU bosses the documents confirming the legality of professor's dismissal.
