HRC "Memorial" to present its report "Ingushetia 2007. Where Now?"

On February 11, a press conference will be held at the Independent Press Centre in Moscow to present the report of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" entitled "Ingushetia 2007. Where Now?" This is the topic of today's message of the "Memorial".

It is expected that the press conference will be attended by Oleg Orlov, Chairman of the Board of the HRC "Memorial" and a member of the Board under the Ombudsman of the Russian Federation, Svetlana Gannushkina, a member of the Board of the HRC "Memorial", head of the network "Migration and Law" of the HRC "Memorial" and Chair of the Committee "Civil Assistance", and Alexander Cherkasov, a member of the Board of the HRC "Memorial" and a member of the Board of the International Society "Memorial".

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported earlier that on January 15, a press conference was held at the Independent Press Centre in Moscow of the HRC "Memorial" and the Committee "Civil Assistance", where the report was presented of the Network "Migration and Law" of the HRC "Memorial" "On Situation of Chechnya Residents in the Russian Federation. August 2006-October 2007". Besides, the press conference summed up the project of the Committee "Civil Assistance" named "Assistance to Schools of Mountain Regions of Chechnya".

  • Rights defenders give number of kidnapped people in Chechnya

    At least 80 residents of Chechnya have been kidnapped after a car with a DUSTUM license plate was set on fire; volunteers have identified the names of a number of them.
