Judge Bukreev's defence claims trial protraction

Today, the Moscow Garrison Military Court continued debates on the case of Vladimir Bukreev - the judge who sentenced Colonel Budanov, - now accused of bribe-taking. The state accuser demands 10 years of general regime colony for the defendant, while the defence complains of protracting the litigation.

"The debates continue, and it looks like the prosecution is going to speak for at least two days more," Leonid Bondarenko, Bukreev's advocate, said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. "When there are proofs, the prosecution is laconic, otherwise they have to extemporize. This is the reason of long speech. I believe that my client is innocent and subject to acquittal. Both the preliminary and judicial inquiries brought no proofs."

The trial of former judge of the North-Caucasian Regional Military Court Vladimir Bukreev at the Moscow Garrison Military Court continues not for the first year. "The case documents make 44 volumes," said Vladimir Bukreev. "The process lasts for 16 months in a rather compressed mode."
