Stavropol to host congress of Orthodox women of Russia's South

A congress of Orthodox women of the South of Russia will take place in Stavropol on May 12 under the motto "Mother's care of the youth" and rally together Orthodox women-believers of Northern Caucasus, Don and lower Volga regions.

In the opinion of the organizers of the congress, the role of women in the modern Russian society is great. "There's absolutely no conflict with the traditional approach to the place of the woman in the Orthodox culture. Apart from the fact that today women work at least as much and not worse than men, we still preserve the status of hearth and home keepers", said Professor Tatiana Pokotilova, Doctor of History, a member of the organizing committee of the congress and the head of the Division of Historiography and Source Studies at the Stavropol State University.

The organizing committee has also decided to pay special attention to the topic of the growing generation.
