Father of missing resident of Dagestan prepares appeal to Russian President

Umakhan Udamanov, a resident of Sultanyangiyurt village, Kizilyurt District of Dagestan, whose son Shamil Udamanov is regarded missing since 2007, has informed the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent about his plan to ask President of Russia Dmitri Medvedev again in the near future to help him.

Mr Udamanov is not happy with the way his son is searched. "For the last time I was telephoned from Moscow and asked about any news about Shamil four months ago," he said and complained of inactivity of local officials and law enforcers.

We remind you that Shamil Udamanov went to Moscow to earn money in summer of 2007. He kept permanent telephone contacts with his relatives. Last time Shamil called home in mid-August 2007.

Relatives fruitlessly searched him by their own channels. In winter of 2008, Shamil's brother Arthur saw on the Internet a video clip showing an alleged murder of a Tadjik and a Dagestanian, "where with a cry 'Fame to Russia!' one of skinheads cuts off the Dagestanian's head with a big knife, while the Tadjik was shot dead in his nape." Arthur asserts that he had recognized his brother in the executed Dagestanian.
