In the highway in the Kaspskiy District of Georgia, unidentified persons have attacked a car and kidnapped a referee who was making his way to a match of the National Football Championship.

"Today, four armed persons in civil clothes attacked a Mercedes car with two referees and a delegate, who were driving to a match of the Georgian Football Championship," representatives of the Professional Football League of Georgia have reported today.

All the persons who were in the car made their way from Tbilisi to the west of Georgia, to the city of Zugdidi, to service a match of the national championship. "The bandits beat the delegate of the match and one referee and put them out of the car; then, they took the second referee away to the territory controlled by the South-Ossetian party," said the League spokesmen.

The Georgian police have begun investigating the incident; the beaten delegate and the referee gave evidences in the police of Gori. Measures are taken to establish the whereabouts of the kidnapped referee and release him, as the ITAR-TASS reports.

The representatives of the EU observing mission were informed about the incident. There is no reaction so far from the South-Ossetian party to this information.
