Bogatyryov: militaries in Kabardino-Balkaria are not paid their "combat" bonuses and overtime salaries

For a long time the authorities of Kabardino-Balkaria fail to pay "combat" bonuses and overtime money to servicemen and equated persons, which are due to them under the federal legislation for performing their duties in reinforcement periods and extra work. In many cases the indebtedness term reaches up to 10 years. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told about it by Timur Bogatyryov, Director General of the "Hermes" legal firm.

"Most of the employees in the time of their service were not even acquainted with the respective orders on additional payments. Many had learnt about their rights already after their dismissal or retirement from service, and, in most cases, from the rumours about similar trials held in neighbouring regions," Mr Bogatyryov said.

He said that courts in the Republic are extremely reluctant in restoring officers' right to go to court, in spite of obvious violations of their labour rights and the federal legislation regulating the legal status of this category of servicemen.

"Besides," he has explained, "for quite explainable reasons, many employees are afraid to defend their rights in the judicial order. Currently, our company is filing a claim against the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic demanding to make mandatory payments to allow defending the rights and legitimate interests of the employees of the respective agency," Timur Bogatyryov has assured.
