Committee in Defence of Political Prisoners concerned with Atspanyan's health condition

The life of Sarkis Atspanyan who started as of December 1 his termless hunger strike is in danger. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told about it by human rights activist Vardan Arutyunyan, a member of the Committee in Defence of Political Prisoners.

"You can imagine the health condition of a person who is on hunger strike for more than two weeks. However, he would not reveal his bad condition; the advocate who has visited him informed us about it. But we are confident that his health is under threat, and the prison administration should understand that human health is the utmost value and fulfil Atspanyan's demands," the human rights activist has stated.

On December 15, the Committee in Defence of Political Prisoners of Armenia called the imprisoned veteran of the Karabakh War Sarkis Atspanyan to stop his termless hunger strike started on December 1.

The members of the Committee believe that a termless hunger strike is the extreme and most hopeless form of struggle, to which people resort only after losing the last hope.
