Volgograd Region: entrepreneurs punished for advertising drugs among children

The prosecutor's inspection held in a clothing marketplace in the Volgograd Region has detected products intended for children, bearing an image of a hemp (cannabis) leaf. Those guilty will pay a fine.

"A hemp leaf was pictured on children's wristlets and labels broadly used by children in their games," explained the public prosecutor. "These articles can cause curiosity of children to the imaged object."

The Prosecutor is sure that the products are in fact "hidden ads aimed to form in human subconscious mind (especially in children) positive attitude to using drugs."

Administrative cases were opened against the individual entrepreneur and the trader who distributed the goods under Article "Illegal advertising of narcotic drugs". The court has fined each of them by 2000 roubles, as the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by senior assistant of the Volgograd Regional Public Prosecutor.
