Vice Prime Minister Galina Karelova was asked to remove stains of racism

Parents and pupils of the Nizhnebakanskaya Secondary School N 11 (about 100 signatures), where classes are formed on the national basis, appealed to human rights activists. As the head of the Novorossiysk Committee for Human Rights Tamara Karasteleva reported, as soon as children enter the school they are sent to the so called "Turkish classes", where children of Turkish nationality study. This is the only school in the region where the principal automatically divides children by their national belonging into separate classes without taking parents' opinion into consideration. This is a case of the rudest violation of Article 2 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

The school's principal Lyudmila Kan assures that the division is made to avoid impeding the development of Russian schoolchildren who have a better level of grounding. However, it is actually the discrimination of children by their national belonging.

Human rights activists directed the appeal to Russian Vice Prime Minister Galina Karelova and now they are waiting for resolute actions for elimination of racism in the Krasnodar region.
