Explosion on Sochi beach kills two persons

Two persons killed and 13 more wounded as a result of the explosion on the Loo beach (Lazarevsk district, Sochi), reports a source in the Krasnodar krai law enforcement agencies.

"Two persons have been killed and 13 more wounded, an eight-year-old girl among them, as a result of the explosion of an unidentified explosive device. Eight persons have been provided with outpatient's medical aid", said the source. According to the source, mostly residents of Nizhni Taghil, Rostov region, are among the victims, reports "Interfax".

The city's MoI department reports that the explosion occurred today at 10.00. The explosive device triggered on the municipal beach where there usually are a lot of tourists at the time.

"A man and a woman wanted to go swimming, they saw a black package near the water. They came up to see what was there in it," relayed Inna Biriukova, head of Krasnodar krai prosecutor's office press-service. "When the woman started to unwrap the package it exploded. The pair was killed there and then ".

The victims are resident of Rostov-on-Don, born in 1977, and resident of Ukraine, born in 1986.
