Chechen residents collect 5 million rubles for orphans

In the course of the subbotnik held on the territory of the Chechen Republic under the motto "In Support of Childhood", the ministries and departments of Chechnya have collected five million rubles for supporting orphans and low-income families. The money raising process is not over yet.

"An all-republican subbotnik within the republic's action "In Support of Childhood" was held on July 31 in the republic. Employees of all ministries, departments, organizations and enterprises have voluntarily gave up their one-day salary to orphan children and low-income families. This action has found a wide support in the republic, and money raising for helping those in need is going to continue, reported representatives of the Chechen government office.

Before September 1, the money will be given to orphan children for buying text-books and other things for the new school year. Employees of the republic's Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Development are currently engaged in compiling and improvement of the lists of orphans and low-income families.
