US recognize Karabah as a part of Armenia

The analysis of recently declassified CIA documents evidences an official, though confidential recognition of the fact that Nagorny Karabah is a historical part of Armenia, reads a press-release of the Armenian National Committee of America.

According to the declassified CIA documents, since at least 1970s the US administration has had three principle conclusions of its service, namely:

1. Nagorny Karabah is a historically Armenian land;

2. Nagorny Karabah consistently tried to reunite with Armenia by legal means;

3. Azerbaijanians' hostility towards Armenians at the end of 1980s - the beginning of 1990s was not based on the protection of Azerbaijan's right to Nagorny Karabah, but rather was a consequence of Azerbaijanians' discontent with political, economic, and demographic situation in the republic and increasing difference in the level of life standards between Azerbaijanians and Armenians.
