Georgia claims Kristine Takalandze's detention in Abkhazia being illegal

International mechanisms are engaged in liberation of Kristina Takalandze, who was detained in Abkhazia on an espionage case, the Georgia's State Security Service (SSS) has informed. Shalva Papuashvili, the parliament head, has urged not to escalate the situation around Takalandze's detention, so as not to interfere with her release.

According to the Abkhaz SSS' version, Kristine Takalandze, a villager of Nabakevi, had gathered data related to state and military secrets for Georgian special services.

The detention of Kristina Takalandze is illegal, the Georgia's SSS has declared, the "Georgia Online" reports. Such detentions "complicate the daily lives of the local population and severely harm secure environment," the statement says.
