Rights defender Oleg Orlov fined for pacifist picket

A Moscow court has fined Oleg Orlov, a board member of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial"*, who in February held a picket against the special operation in Ukraine, by 20,000 roubles.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 26, law enforcers detained Oleg Orlov, Evgeny Onikeev, a former member of the Public Oversight Commission (POC), and Alla Frolova, a human rights defender, who were picketing near the Federation Council building.

The court found Orlov guilty of violating the picketing rules, the HRC "Memorial"* has reported in its Telegram channel.

Let us remind you that Oleg Orlov went out to pacifist pickets in March as well. Thus, on March 6, he was detained in Manezhnaya Square in Moscow. Later, on March 20, law enforcers brought Oleg Orlov and eight other people detained with posters in Moscow streets to the police station. A protocol was drawn up against Mr Orlov under the article on discrediting the Russian Armed Forces.
