Native of Kabardino-Balkaria suspected of recruiting militants

Five residents of Kabardino-Balkaria were involved in the activities of the “Islamic State” (IS, a terrorist organization, banned in Russia by the court, – note of the “Caucasian Knot”).

A native of Kabardino-Balkaria, who was put on the wanted list in 2014 for participating in an illegal armed formation (IAF) on the territory of a foreign state, is suspected of recruiting five residents of the republic into the “Islamic State”.

According to the investigators’ version, in 2017, while in Syria, the suspect used instant messengers to persuade five residents of Kabardino-Balkaria to leave for Syria and join the terrorist organization.

Criminal cases are being investigated against five men who succumbed to persuasion, arrived in Syria, and joined the terrorist organization.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that investigators suspected a native of Kabardino-Balkaria of participating in hostilities on the side of militants of the “Islamic State”.
