Activists threaten Pashinyan with Ceausescu's fate

Narek Malyan, the leader of the "Veto" movement, is accused of inciting violence for staging the execution of Romanian President Nicolae Ceausescu. He has admitted that the performance was addressed to the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan. Arman Tatoyan, the Armenian Ombudsperson, has condemned the performance, urging Premier's supporters and opponents to abandon the rhetoric of hatred.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 25, thousands of Pashinyan's opponents and supporters rallied in Yerevan.

Nicolae Ceausescu was the President of the Socialist Republic of Romania; he was executed together with his wife in 1989 by a verdict of the military tribunal.

Arman Tatoyan, the Ombudsperson, has pointed out on the Facebook that the performance "Execution of Ceausescu, or Death to Traitors" can be perceived as a call to violence. He has also noted that both Pashinyan's opponents and supporters are increasingly resorting to insults and hate speech during their actions and when communicating in social networks.
