Krasnodar protests are most massive in recent years

The activists of the local Navalny's office were detained in a coffee shop after the protest action; one of the office volunteers was arrested for five days. In Novorossiysk and Armavir, they detained those who shouted slogans or came out with posters, protesters have informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 23, the entire Russia, including its southern cities, hosted actions organized by supporters of the opposition leader, Alexei Navalny. Dozens of people were detained in Krasnodar after the participants in the protest march began dispersing.

On January 17, Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who flew from Berlin to Moscow, was detained at the Sheremetyevo Airport, and on January 18, the court ruled to keep him in custody until February 15, 2021.

After Navalny's arrest, the FBK has released an investigation about Putin's palace near the city of Gelendjik, Krasnodar Territory, the largest private house in Russia, which is being built for money of state-owned companies.

After the end of the march in central Krasnodar, which, according to various sources, gathered from 5 to 10 thousand people, activists of the local Navalny's office were detained. Law enforcers came to the coffee shop where the activists gathered.

The Leninsky District Court has arrested Alexei Korabelnikov, a volunteer of Navalny's Krasnodar office, for five days, having found him guilty of organizing an unsanctioned rally, Vitaly Votanovsky, an activist, has informed.

At least six people were detained in Novorossiysk, Tatiana Tribrat, an activist, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. She has added that the largest rally in the past 25 years was held in the city today.

The Novorossiysk action had no organizers; people gathered through social networks, the activist said. "At first, policemen behaved correctly; when people came to the city administration, they demanded to disperse. People played round dances near the administration. Those who began shouting slogans and raised posters were detained," Ms Tribrat has explained.

A protest action was also held in Armavir; several people were detained. Those who shouted slogans were detained, Kirill, an activist, has reported.
