Inal Djabiev's brother detained amid protests in Tskhinvali

In Tskhinvali, relatives of deceased Inal Djabiev have been protesting for 18 days. They demand to punish the persons responsible for his death. The authorities broke the promise to report to the relatives of the deceased man the progress of the investigation, stated a widow of Inal Djabiev. Meanwhile, the police reported on the detention of an Inal Djabiev's brother.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 4, the relatives of Inal Djabiev organized an indefinite round-the-clock protest action in Tskhinvali. They demand an effective investigation into a case on the Inal Djabiev's death, punishment of the guilty persons, and the resignation of the General Prosecutor. On December 19, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of South Ossetia put Atsamaz, a brother of Inal Djabiev, on the wanted list in a case on extortion.

Atsamaz Djabiev has been detained by the police, and he is being kept in a temporary detention cell, the "Sputnik South Ossetia" reports with reference to the South-Ossetian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

Even after the protests began, the investigation did not progress, complained Oksana Sotieva, the widow of Inal Djabiev. The woman also claims the authorities broke the promise that they would inform her about the progress of the case. "We have been deceived starting from the first days, and there has been no progress in the investigation into the case. At the press conference, [President Anatoly] Bibilov lied that investigators report to me, as a victim, the materials of the criminal case. This is a lie," said Oksana Sotieva as quoted by the "Kavkaz.Realii" today.
