Gubden residents treat law enforcers' checks as act of pressure

During the raids conducted by law enforcers in Gubden, no one was detained; but the house-to-house visits themselves became an act of pressure on the villagers, the locals interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" believe.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 16, the Dagestani political analyst and journalist, Ruslan Kurbanov, reported about law enforcers' checks of the houses of residents of the Gubden village in the Karabudakhkent District. "They walk all over the village, enter houses and conduct searches and checks. There is a version that this is done because of the confrontation of Gubden villagers with law enforcers in Manas about a month ago," Mr Kurbanov wrote.

On July 20, villagers told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent about repeated checks conducted by law enforcers.

According to Abdurakhman, a resident of Gubden, law enforcers conducted their raids with the involvement of a large number of people and equipment units. According to his version, not a single villager was detained during the raid; and he treated the raid as an act of psychological pressure.

Abdul, another Gubden resident, sticks to a similar opinion; he treats the raids as an attempt to intimidate people, and also linked them with the events in Manas of the Karabudakhkent District.

Besides, Abdul has noted that this was already the second check; the first one was held a week after the incident. "They will check; and they won't leave us alone," the villager is sure.
