Azerbaijan and Armenia lead in number of COVID-19 patients in Southern Caucasus

By the evening of April 22, the countries of Southern Caucasus, including the unrecognized republics, counted 3417 coronavirus infected patients; 1518 of them are in Azerbaijan, and 1473 – in Armenia.

According to the Johns Hopkins University, as of 8:00 p.m. Moscow time today, over the last 24 hours, in the countries of Southern Caucasus, a total of 118 coronavirus cases were detected; and the total number of infection cases reached 3417.

During the last 24 hours, Armenia registered 72 new coronavirus cases; and the total number of coronavirus patients reached 1473. In Azerbaijan, out of 1518 cases, 38 are the new ones.

Georgia has 416 infection cases, of which 8 were the new ones registered during the last 24 hours. In Nagorno-Karabakh and Abkhazia, the situation has not changed during the last 24 hours; they have 7 and 3 confirmed cases accordingly. South Ossetia has not yet reported any revealed infection cases.
