Gasanguseinov applied for 58th time for a rally in Makhachkala

For the third day in a row, Murtazali Gasanguseinov, the father of the murdered shepherd brothers, has held his solo picket in Makhachkala demanding an efficient investigation of the murder case. He has notified the Dagestani Ministry of Justice (MoJ) about an intended mass protest action.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 4, Murtazali Gasanguseinov resumed his daily pickets in Makhachkala demanding to investigate the killing of his sons. In the first two days, republic's authorities did not react to his protests.

On August 23, 2016, Nabi and Gasangusein Gasanguseinov, 17-year-old and 19-year-old brothers, were killed during an operation conducted by law enforcers in the Shamil District of Dagestan.

The father told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that on March 6 he sent a notification to the Dagestani MoJ about a 1000-strong rally in Makhachkala. The application states that the aim of the action is "to demand an efficient investigation and prosecution of those responsible for the murder of Nabi and Gasangusein Gasanguseinov brothers." Pickets are scheduled for March 21 and 22.

According to Gasanguseinov's calculations, this is the 58th notification submitted by him about holding a mass rally. The previous 57 ones were rejected.

The March 6 picket was held at the same place as in the previous two days. "I no longer expect anything from our republic's authorities; they can do nothing. Therefore, we now rely on the resonance and support of the population. Only under the pressure of public opinion they'll start doing something," Murtazali Gasanguseinov has stated.
